FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

2025-2026 Financial Aid Information

The federal poverty line (FPL) is calculated based on income and family size. Here’s how it works:

1) Income Thresholds:

The FPL considers the annual income of a household.

The specific income thresholds vary based on the number of dependents in the household.

2) Poverty Guidelines:

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) publishes the poverty guidelines annually.

These guidelines provide the minimum income required for a family to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing.

3) Family Size Adjustment:

The FPL adjusts based on the number of people in the household.

For example, the FPL for a family of 4 is higher than that for an individual.

4) Multiples of the Poverty Level (see charts below)

The FPL is expressed as a multiple of the poverty level.

For instance, if the FPL is 200%, it means the income is twice the poverty level.

5) Eligibility for Assistance:

a) Complete application online or fill out the application manually

b) Provide Page 1 of the most recent 1040 tax form (please black out social security number) c) Most recent pay stub

d) Do you participate in the Free/Reduced Lunch Program?

Financial Aid and supporting documentation must be submitted online in the Playmetrics software program within 15 days of accepting the player's position

Financial Aid applications will not be processed if the above items are not received by the 15 day deadline.

All Competitive and Youth Academy players at the Winston-Salem location, including High School and One Season players may request financial aid assistance
